Many times we find ourselves trying to fill the void in our lives with the wrong things.
Putting a circle into a square hole, will never work. Just as filling ourselves with things of this world will never work.
The hole in our hearts was created to be filled by one thing….God’s love. It’s time for us to put aside worldly. desires that will never satisfy, and fill hearts with the love of Jesus, the one who never ceases to satisfy, who never leaves s thirsty.
The passed two weeks we have seen the lady at the well. She emptied her life and ran to tell others of her encounter with Christ. She ran and left her water jug behind because now she was filled with something new. With Jacob we see his “desperate” encounter to be filled with Christ.
Matthew 12:43-45
“When an impure spirit comes out of a person, it goes through arid places seeking rest and does not find it. Then it says, ‘I will return to the house I left.’ When it arrives, it finds the house unoccupied, swept clean and put in order. Then it goes and takes with it seven other spirits more wicked than itself, and they go in and live there. And the final condition of that person is worse than the first. That is how it will be with this wicked generation.”
Matthew 5:6
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.
Reading these two scriptures we can ask some questions?
(Feel free to post your own):
1) Why is the condition for the man now worse than before?
2) If the impurities left, how can they come back and be stronger?
3) What do I thirst and hunger for?
4) If I rid myself of these “impurities,” and I am now emptied. Then what do I fill this emptiness with instead?
**My Image family this scripture shows that if we don’t replace what we’ve been emptied of with something else than we can be worse off than before? We will be praying for all of you!**
Sincerely,
